Our Rehabilitation Services
Our highly-skilled and compassionate therapy team treats a variety of conditions such as: orthopedic injury; joint replacements; stroke; brain injury; amputations; neuropathies; multiple sclerosis; spinal cord injury; and tracheostomy management. Our mission is to help residents return to the most independent lifestyle possible. With that in mind, we develop interdisciplinary goals that address the unique needs of each person. These goals are established by the resident, family and therapy team, under the direction of our attending physicians, and are frequently reviewed to refine the treatment plan.
Our Pulmonary Care Unit
Howell Care Center and Five Star Quality Care recognized the need in the community for long-term ventilator care management. Our 28-bed pulmonary care unit provides ventilator care for adults in a warm, home-like environment. We offer residents semi-private rooms which can accommodate items from home to personalize their living space.
Our Team
Our specialized ventilator care program consists of a team of dedicated professionals. Howell Care Center’s Pulmonary Care Program is under the direction of our Medical Director along with the attending Internal Medicine Doctor. The program’s team includes our registered dietician, certified wound care nurse, respiratory therapists, ventilator certified nursing staff, activity therapist, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and consulting psychologist and psychiatrist. Care plan meetings are held with our team members, the resident, and family within a few short weeks of admission, quarterly, and by personal appointment, as eeded, to discuss the individualized treatment plans and goals.
